Behind the Art

Carl Newman

Carl served as the movement double during production of Batman, working closely with director Tim Burton to help define the physical presence of Batman on screen.

Performing many of the movements within the Batsuit, Carl contributed to the distinctive silhouette, posture and motion that became part of the character’s cinematic identity. His behind-the-scenes role forms a meaningful part of the film’s production history.

Connor MacGregor

Connor is a comic artist whose work is rooted in a lifelong fascination with Batman and the visual storytelling of the medium.

After years balancing creative work with a corporate career, Connor eventually left the office world to pursue comic art full-time. His work now focuses on original painted covers and character-driven pieces for collectors.
